Mission Hills Golf Club
Mission Hills Golf Club, invested by Hong Kong Mission Hills Group, was officially opened in 1994. To follow the internationalization trend in China’s reform and opening up, the Mission Hills Group decided to build on the barren land at the border between Shenzhen and Dongguan the Mission Hills Golf Club, which is the only one gathering the style of courses in five continents around the world and has 12 international courses. It is rated as the world’s biggest golf club by the “Guinness World Records Organization” for its scale of 216 holes.
More than RMB10 billion has been successively invested in the Mission Hills. Based on the overall planning as the international top integrated resort, the Mission Hills Country Club including the biggest tennis center in Asia, many international business and leisure hotels and clubs, large international conference center, biggest SPA center in Asia, integrated commercial, food, sports and recreation facilities, many golf schools directed by the world’s top coaches as well as China’s biggest golf real estate project have been built. An international resort area, integrating sports and leisure, business and social intercourse, health preservation and rehabilitation, long-term residence and short-term stay, dining and shopping, and culture and entertainment, is formed.
Mission Hills is currently the most famous place for holding the international golf competitions and international sports, cultural and commercial trade exchange activities. So far, it has successively undertaken more than 100 of such events, like golf, tennis, billiards and cycling competitions. As early as in 1995, it undertook the Golf World Cup reputed as “Golf Olympic” for the first time in China, and invited the world’s top golfer--Tiger Woods to pay the first visit to China in 2001. Since 2007, Mission Hills will continue to hold the Golf World Cup reputed as “Golf Olympic” for twelve consecutive sessions. In addition, it also has held the important international competitions, such as professional team event “Dynasty Cup” ranking highest in Asia, Asian Amateur Championship ranking highest in Asian-Pacific region and international innovative event “Goodwill Trophy” and International Economy and Trade Friendship Forum.
