The creation of the mascot is the result of collective wisdom and efforts of countless experts, designers and the general public. We have received 2,007 proposals in total since Jan. 17, 2008. The age of participants ranges from 9 to 70, 70% of whom are college and university students. Among them, over 30 proposals are submitted by professionals from the UK, France, Japan, and Australia, fully reflecting the international influence of this event. After careful evaluation, 10 proposals were selected in the first round of review. And “Digital Man”, “Happy Emissary” and “UU” were voted by experts as the top three, with “UU” finally beating the other two candidates and becoming the official mascot of Shenzhen Summer Universiade.
