Since Shenzhen’s successful bidding for hosting the Universiade in January of 2007, the preparatory work has been proceeding very well with remarkable achievements, thanks to the concrete efforts of all Shenzheners. BYD Auto, the 25th sponsor for the Universiade, is to offer exclusive cars for the Universiade, which is an implement of the principle of “Government hosting with citizen involvement; an economical event with marketing operation”, and which at the same time, marks a new stage for the Universiade marketing. He hoped, taking the opportunity of being chosen as a sponsor for the Universiade, BYD Auto will go out of China and then enjoy worldwide popularity, while in turn, Shenzhen Universiade can be more “exciting, spectacular and impressive” with the participation of BYD.
In accordance with the agreement, BYD F6 and BYD F3 are going to serve at the upcoming Universiade. 500 cars will work as concierge cars and transport in the games time, 300 BYD F6 and 200 BYD F3, among which BYD F6 is appointed to serve as VIP transport.
Besides, to realize the environmental protection ideas in the sports gala, Shenzhen has set up electric car battery charging stations at the Main Stadium of the Universiade Center. Plus, sales subsidies of the new energy cars has started in Shenzhen on July 7. With the first 40 BYD e6 electric taxis being put into use, they are bound to be city’s most beautiful scenery during the Universiade.
