January 24 – 25, local time, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) held the Executive Committee Conference in Erzurum of Turkey. Headed by Member of Party Leadership Group of the Executive Office and Chief of the Human Resources Department Li Chaoqi, an eight – member Shenzhen delegation attended the Conference and made a work report on the Universiade preparation progress since November of 2010.
Before the Conference, on behalf of FISU, President Killian signed with the delegation an “agreement on hosting the 2011 FISU Academic Assembly”, and during the session afterwards, the delegation fully exchanged opinions with the FISU Executive Committee members on issues like Chefs de Mission Seminar, marketing, assistance programs in less developed countries, programs of guests invited to visit Shenzhen, information technology, FISU Academic Assembly, Youth Sports Press Forum, guests’ transit visa via Hong Kong, and entry and exit ports. Executive Committee members highly lauded the Universiade preparation progress and they also gave their suggestions. President Killian hoped, as it is only six months left before the Games official opening, the Organizing Committee of the Shenzhen Universiade is expected to pay enough attention to and efficiently handle with the problems raised by Executive Committee members. The FISU will always be backing Shenzhen’s efforts, he added, trying to help stage a “more spectacular, successful and influential” sports gala.
