On the morning of March 19, Mr. Liang Daoxing, Vice Chairperson of the Executive Committee and Director-general of the Executive Office for the Universiade, held a seminar on “the further design proposal of functional planning for the Universiade Village”, at Meeting Room 1012 of the Executive Office. Managing Vice President of FUSC and Vice Chairperson of the Executive Committee Yang Liguo, Deputy Directors of the Executive Office Ke Gangming and Liu Pingsheng, Section Head of International Cooperation and Exchange Department of FUSC Shenzhen, and leaders of different departments of the Executive Office like General Office, Human Resources Dept, Finance and Audit Dept, Marketing Dept, Venue Management and Sports Dept, Competition Department Dept, External Relations Dept, Media and Communications Dept, Events Planning Department Dept, Logistics Dept, Information and Technology Department Dept, the Security and Safeguard Dept, Volunteer Dept, Telecasting Dept, Registration and Consultation Dept, and Supervision Dept were also at the seminar.

On the occasion, Zhongjian International (Shenzhen) Design Advisory Co., Ltd, Shenzhen Research Institute of Building Materials and the Institute of Architectural Design and Research of Shenda introduced the further design proposal of functional planning for the North Area, South Area and East Area of the Athlete Village, incluing function divisions, assorted items, the security and safeguard, clients, traffic and personnel flowing of the Universiade Village. Every department had a high regard to the seminar and as well set forth their own advice and suggestions.

As told, before “the further design proposal of functional planning for Universiade Village” coming up, the Universiade Village Administration Department, Shenzhen Public Works Bureau and relative designing organizations have worked on it for almost two months, based on the functional requirements claimed by the departments of the Executive Office. Beforhand, the Universiade Village Administration Department had paid a visit to Guangzhou on key public works projects, and carried on statistical summary on functional requirements of all the projects in the Universiade Village. After they had put forward a “ Design Program of Functional Configuration for the Universiade Village”, they asked the departments of the Executive Office for advice twice, and arranged the contact of relative departments and the designing organizations.

Liang Daoxing noted, based on specific functional requirements and correlation parameter of all the departments and offices to enter the Village, and the Universiade Village Administration Department’s statistical summary, the further design proposal will be improved. After that, it will be sent to the leading group for Athlete Village’s preparation to check and approve, which makes it more scientific and reasonable. Then functional requirements decided will be involved in a Universiade Village simulation system to be further developed. Thus, the Village’s function during the events will be well compatible with the construction of the Village, bringing high operating efficiency at the coming games.
