On the morning of Jan. 22, a “Launching Ceremony of Outsourcing of Accommodation Service in the 26th Shenzhen Summer Universiade Village” was held jointly by the Executive Office of the Organizing Committee of the 26th Shenzhen Universiade, Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality and Shenzhen Travel Association, Jinxiu Hall of Shengtingyuan Hotel, Shenzhen.
Vice Chairperson of Executive Committee and Director-general of the Executive Office for the 26th Summer Universiade Liang Daoxing, Deputy Director-general of the Executive Office Ke Gangming, Deputy Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality Yi Nengquan, President of Shenzhen Travel Association Jian Di’an, Vice President of Shenzhen Travel Association Zheng Weiling and representatives from famous local hotels were at the starting ceremony.
Liang Daoxing noted, the Universiade is the first all-round international sports meeting since the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was founded thirteen years ago. It is meant to be an unprecedented sports gala. Because of its importance to be reckoned in Shenzhen city’s history, hosting a successful Universiade is of help to make Shenzhen a civilized and harmonious metropolis and to display marvelous achievements in Shenzhen and China’s reform and opening up in front of the world. It is definitely a good chance to introduce Shenzhen to the world. .
During the future Universiade, the Universiade Village will accommodate nearly 13,000 athletes and officials from more than 180 countries and regions, offering them accommodation, catering, entertainment, and traffic service. This kind of reception work is a test on capacity, experience and service level of Shenzhen hotel service industry, and as well an opportunity to upgrade and internationalize the Shenzhen hotel service industry. Liang added, all the time, Shenzhen hotel service industry is among the front rank in our country, due to its unique style, favorable image and high-quality service. He hoped that every staff member in the service industry can take active part in the Universiade Village’s accommodation service and reception work, thus get their names well known and increase the impact of Shenzhen hotel service, through their outstanding work for the Universiade. He believed they will get a win-win situation of both successfully hosting of the Universiade and improvement of Shenzhen hotel service industry.
On the occasion, Chief of the Universaide Village Administration and Security Department of the Executive Office Zhou Yanbin introduced the general status of accommodation arrangements in the Universiade Village, and the requirements and procedure of outsourcing of accommodation service. As told, there will be five athletes’ dorm buildings in the residential zone of the Universiade Village with 4,997 rooms in all, 1,000 rooms in each building, of which each room is designed to accommodate three persons. Considering there may be unexpected surplus of arrivals in the future Universiade, some reserve rooms are also planned ahead of time. In a method of outsourcing, six to eight hotels are going to jointly embark on handing operation of accommodation service. Qualified accommodation service providers must be three-star hotels and above.
President of Shenzhen Travel Association Jian Di’an has called on all the Shenzhen hotels to welcome the Universiade with excellent service, and to show the world Shenzhen hotels’ high service quality and service level. That is also the hope of Yi Nengquan, Deputy Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality.
