Firefighters rescue a “victim” in a tunnel fire drill on the Shenyan Second Passage in Yantian District on Thursday. The drill involved 45 fire engines and 158 personnel from a number of government agencies including traffic police and the transport bureau. The exercise was aimed at enhancing response to emergencies in tunnels and on expressways. The Shenyan Second Passage, linking the eastern regions with downtown Shenzhen, was opened in July 2008.
