The China Hi-Tech Fair has been held in October every year since 1999. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Information Industry, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Personnel, State Intellectual Property Office, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shenzhen Municipal Government, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Chinese Academy of Engineering. So far, eight fairs have been successfully held.
