200 world famous companies to attend top high-tech fair

MORE than 200 world-renowned companies will attend the 2008 China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) from Oct. 12 to 17 in Shenzhen.

Among the participants are Microsoft, Omron, LG, Panosonic, Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. and Nitto Denko Corporation. They will feature the latest high-tech products on information, biology, new energy, energy conservation, environmental protection, aerospace and oceanic economics at the fair at Shenzhen Exhibition and Convention Center.

Countries such as Russia, Finland, Germany, France and South Korea will also send delegations to the fair.

Ministers from Finland, Hungary and Israel have already confirmed their participation in the Ministerial Forum and CEOs from Dupont, Dow Chemical Company and Corning Corporation will attend the International CEO Forum.

Seven stock exchanges from London, Germany, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shenzhen have also confirmed they will attend the Capital Market Summit Forum.

Domestic participants included delegations from 34 provinces and cities along with 27 universities.

The Sichuan delegation will present high-tech products used in post-quake reconstruction while Beijing will showcase products used in the Olympics.

Some inventors will bring their latest inventions to the Individual Technology Creative Exhibition, seven of whom are from the Hong Kong Invention Association.

The theme of the 10th CHTF this year is to promote high-tech products for enhancing people’s livelihoods. Other activities include a high-technology job fair, and professional forums and conferences.

The CHTF is the biggest and most influential technology and science fair in China. During the past 10 years, a total of 30,075 companies, 16,133 investors and 94,390 projects from more than 50 countries have been involved in the fair, including 465 global companies such as IBM, Microsoft and Oracle.
