MEMBERS of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) executive committee who were in Shenzhen for the fifth Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) General Assembly had a tour of the city yesterday.

The guests visited the high-tech industrial park, university town and Splendid China<2022>China Folk Culture Villages in Nanshan District.

Executive committee members said they had an enjoyable time chatting with local residents and university students, as well as experiencing the latest modern technology in the high-tech industrial park and the traditional Chinese folk culture which dates back 5,000 years.

It was the first time some executive committee members were visiting Shenzhen.

“Many Taiwanese businessmen who invested in the mainland recommended me to visit Shenzhen, saying that it’s a city developed overnight,” said Chen Tai-cheng, a FISU executive committee member from Taiwan Province. “Now, I’m here. Seeing is believing.” (Tan Xiaomi, Shenzhen Daily)
