Longgang District held a mobilization assembly to greet the construction of the Universiade Project.

LongGang Olympic New Town is a key project of the city's bid for the 2011 Universiade. Which will cover 13.4 square kilometers, including a 6.5-square-kilometer Olympic Park. The park will house a stadium, a gym and a swimming center that can accommodate as many as 60,000, 18,000 and 10,000 people respectively. An athletes' village for 10,000 people will also be set up in the park.
