On the afternoon of September 17, in the mobilization meeting and general training of the volunteers who will serve the third China Cup International Regatta, 84 leading volunteers and reserve volunteers for the 2011 Shenzhen Universiade pledge seriously to provide an excellent service at the sailing event, as a rehearsal for the Universiade.

Since the first batch of 500 volunteers was recruited in May this year, the Executive Office has organized volunteers to provide voluntary work for many activities, such as the Universiade Culture Cycling, 2009 Guangdong Youth Archery championships, and two years’ Countdown Party for the Universiade. China Cup International Regatta, a large –scale sailing event jointly held by the Executive Office and China Sailing and Windsurfing Association, boasts an activity with 126 Universiade volunteers, the largest number of voluntary workers, the most of whom are leading volunteers for the 2011 Universiade. The volunteers who will be sent to serve the Regatta can gather experience at worldwide games, improve comprehensive quality and voluntary service level, and enhance the abilities of negotiability and writing, thus they are expected to provide better service at the coming Universiade.

According to the working scheme of the Volunteers Department of the Executive Office, the volunteers will be given more opportunities to upgrade their voluntary service level through practice next, for example, the eleventh National Games in Shandong, the East Asian Games in Hongkong, and the Asian Games in Guangdong next year, through which a group of high - level and high-quality volunteers can be made for the Universiade.
