On Nov. 2, over thirty former above deputy municipal leaders, including Qin Wenjun, Zou Erkang, Li Guangzhen and Lin Jiang, came to Longgang District, paying a visit to the Universiade Village, the International Broadcast Center (IBC) and the Main Stadium of the Universiade Center. Vice President of the Executive Committee and Director-general of the Universiade Executive Office Liang Daoxing and Deputy Director of the Executive Office Zhao Guanghua were also on the construction sites in the company of them.
Not only did the former leaders spoke highly of the idea that the Universiade Village is designed also for the use of Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology dorm buildings, but also they assented the venue construction idea of taking into account post – games utilization and running. Plus, they put a premium on the notion of staging an “economical Universiade” by means of refurbishing old venues and old factory space for the events’ use.
When told about the complicated structure of the Main Stadium, they were very shocked. And when hearing that Chinese enterprises possess the most advanced steel structure technology in the world, a technical breakthrough, which saves nearly 40% construction funds, many leaders couldn’t help giving their thumbs up.
