     Torch relay for the 26th Summer Universiade will be held in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center (HEMC) from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Sunday, May 15th.

     It’s known that the relay will involve an estimated 100 torchbearers. It will start its trip from Sun Yat-Sen University, and make an 8 km trip across 3 campus including Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.

     Yuan Chengyong, the Deputy Head of Large Activity Planning Department, indicates that the torch relay at HEMC marks the end of the Universiade torch relay. Famous athletes such as Zhou Jiawei, Xian Dongmei and Lao Lishi will also join in this relay on 15th. Zhou Jiawei, the gold medal winner in 50m (men) and 10m (men) butterfly strokes in 2010 Guanzhou Asian Games, will be the torchbearer to start the trip.
