SHENZHEN had launched a campaign to crack down on illegal outdoor advertising along city roads, a government meeting was told Monday.
The campaign would target illegal outdoor advertising along the Shenzhen section of Shenzhen-Guangzhou Expressway, including Airport Road. Illegal advertising hoardings would be demolished, the Daily Sunshine reported yesterday.
Government-approved outdoor advertising would be retained during the campaign but would be required to go though a new approval procedure after the crackdown.
Advertisers with unapproved billboards and hoardings were being encouraged to remove them before tomorrow. Persistent offenders would face mandatory removal of the advertisements by the urban management bureau.
Illegal advertising along the Shenzhen section of Shenzhen-Guangzhou Expressway would be demolished in Futian, Nanshan and Bao’an districts before Aug. 31 and the city government would conduct two inspections in September and December, the Daily said.
