THE city is considering restricting small airborne objects during the Universiade between Aug. 10 and 24 to ensure safety, a plan at the official Web site of Shenzhen Legislative Affairs Office said Monday.
The move is to prevent incidents caused by such objects.
Small airborne objects include light and super light aircraft, light helicopters, gliders, parasailing, hot-air balloons, airboat, model planes, Kongming lanterns, kites and home pigeons.
Aerial events for ceremonies, competitions, photography, telecasting and rescue are not subject to this restriction.
Companies violating the restriction will be fined between 10,000 yuan (US$1,538) and 30,000 yuan and individuals will be fined 500 yuan.
