THE Universiade Athletes Village clinic will start trial operations in July, before providing medical services for more than 13,000 athletes and officials from 180 countries and regions.

The clinic has 12 departments.

During the Universiade, the outpatients department will open between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m., while the emergency department and transfer service will be open 24 hours a day.

The city health department said 265 doctors, nurses and pharmacists were preparing to move into the clinic. All drugs and equipment would be moved into the clinic between May 15 and 31. It would start operating in July.

Longgang People’s Hospital would provide emergency services to athletes, guests and Universiade staff. Green channels would be opened during the Universiade to increase efficiency, the health department said.

Meanwhile, preparatory work on the dining hall in the Univerisade Village had also been completed. The hall can cater for about 3,800 people at the same time.
