Medals and their features

With the diameter of 60mm and the thickness of 5mm, the medals of Shenzhen Summer Universiade are known as the “heart of ocean,” designed by Xue Mei from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. The front side is inscribed with the logo of FISU, the words of “The 26th Summer Universiade, Shenzhen” while the back side shows the emblem and the full name of the event in Chinese. One folded side is inlayed with wave-shaped colorful mother-of-pearl. And the ribbon shows core graphics and the name of the Games.

The design is inspired by the crystal structure of the main venue. The basic form of the medal presents a crystalline structure and the fold lines and surfaces change when seen from different angles, glowing in all directions. It brings to mind the architectural style of the main venue. The wave-shaped colorful mother-of-pearl inlay resembles the trace left by waves on sands.
